AP Springfield -  After a spirited fight of several hours, firemen and rescue workers were able to subdue the man known only as the "Wild Doc".

Firemen were called to the Illini golf course, where this man was accused of making unsavory gestures to his fellow golfers. " I was aghast" says Mike Zinzilieta, who happened to be on the course when the attack occurred. " I saw portions of his anatomy that would have been better off never seeing the light of day."

Rescue workers suffered some injuries during the melee. "That little SOB bit me" said Sgt Pat O'Leary. "Now I'm going to have to get rabies shots and God knows what else."
