The Springfield Ballet Company's young dancers once again improved on the annual production of
The Nutcracker.
SBC's artistic director Julie Guttas doesn't let tradition stand in the way, enlivening things every year.
It was difficult to believe that almost all of the dancers were local people. For a town this size, Springfield has a very professional ballet. This year's Clara was Allison Hebron, and Elizabeth Chapman and Herman Justo danced a stellar Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier. Caitlin Helton was Dew Drop, and Courtney Vorachek and Justo were the Snow Queen and King.
